Vtec activation light by accident
Ok guys this is a wiered problem. I did a SiR II swap into my 98 DX about two months back everything works fine and dandy (except for brakes), and i am ordering a b20 block soon and everything. So yesterday i am rollin around and i hit vtec for a breif second, and i notice my ebrake light flickers for a second so im like whatever, i didnt really care. And then later that evening i hit vtec again but for longer this time, and the ebrake light pops on and stays on and as soon as i drop out of VTEC it turned off, so them im like WTF is going on. So i start messing around hitting VTEC in all of my gears and stuff and i notice, that everytime i hit vtec that damn light comes on. What i wanna know is WHY??, it just started doing this yesterday, and it wont stop. Any suggestions or OPINIONS????
Its the craziest thing ever i have no idea why it would do that.

check brake fluid...maybe a instance of one thing leading to another...
maybe when you get on it and hit vtec it moves the fluid enough to cause the brake fluid resivour sensor to trip off giving the light

lol yeah that must be it
But im changing my rotars, and pads on wednesday, and changin the break fluid to, so ill jsut live with it till then, and if it the problem isnt fixed when i do that, then ill be back here asking for other options.

LOW BRAKE FLUID! DUH! when your vtec kicks in it causes it to slush around and the sensor(pad looking thing hanging from the cap) goes up and down as the fluid is getting slushed around. add more fluid and you're all set.

their's a vtec light with the SIR cluster, no?? if it's not a mecanical problem, I think it may be an electrical one, maybe the vtec light out from the ECU come into your brake light, or those two light have a short-cut.
Someone may have T the wire from your ebrake to the Vtec in the ecu to give them a Vtec light. Fluid in the reservior doesn't have to do with your ebrake light. All that activates it is a switch by your ebrake to close the circuit.
