where is the vss? (vehicle speed sensor?)

on a first gen b16a, with y1 tranny

it's in a 88 crx si

i am now getting a code 17, i am using the stock crx speedo cable to the tranny..

its on the top of the tranny, kind of in back in the middle but toward the passenger side. look for the cable coming straight up and going into your firewall

 

yeah, that's where i took some electronic 3 wire thing off, and put the speedo cable.. speedometer works, but i'm getting a code 17

do i have to put the electronic one back on? and, how do i hook it up? there is nothing on the engine harness to connect it to
