Yeah, Hondas are slow...
With $1000 there's plenty you can do to make power. Nitrous is cheap power, just be smart. And don't tell him about it.

vr6 motors is sweet, the best one is in the r32's they are built for better intake and exhaust flow vs previous vr6 motors, h23 should be quicker if its in a lighter chassis, vwtech

You likely already have him beat. There is not a VR6 car out there that weighs less than 3000 pounds. So unless your H23 is actually in a Prelude, you probably are ALOT lighter than he is. If the VR6 is an older one, the HP and torque differences between the VR6 and H23A are actually quite small (172HP, 180ft-lb vs 160HP, 156ft-lb). SO if your car is alot lighter, it is still going to be faster.

The weight of a GTI vr6 is 2890 stock. That is a 1995-1998 stock weight. Just thought i'd let you know since my brother owns one. And the rear seating and etc in the back will bring it down easily 90 lbs, because they are heavy due too heavy **** being used. As for the race it would be a decent one, a golf vr6 won't even be that fast since it is a 4 door though.
