I have an LS/VTEC 97 integra w/ stock tranny, and Comp stg 3 clutch. it is nearly impossible to shift fast from 1st to 2nd while shifting in the higher rpm range. the tranny doesnt grind at all, it just makes it VERY hard to shift into 2nd, 3rd is a little easier. Let me know what you think.
Notes:
Ive tried using GM syncromesh with friction modifier
it shifts fine while car is on or off and not moving.
normal shifting is still kinda crappy though.
thanks

Im not sure what kind of throwout bearing they use. Its a Competition Cluch and they label them Stage 1, 2, 3, 4 so I realize the " " 's were used to mock my usage of Stage 3 but thats what they use. So to answer your question, I dont know what brand or type of throw out bearing they use. I think im just gonna get a new tranny.
i wasn't mocking you at all... i was just asking a simple question... i wouldn't just get a new tranny waste of money... i high doubt its your motor mount like he was saying... cause mines busted in the rear and i shift at high rpms alll day.... and dog it out all day.. you should find out what type of throw out bearing was installed cause if you used a stock one... then you just got f'd....

prior to having the clutch installed, shifting to smooth at all rpms.. so im starting to agree that it might be a clutch issue.

ive heard of some people have trouble with a really strong clutch as far as shifting and engaugment. i was just hopeing that maybe you would get lucky and it be something simple. sounds like the clutch also. have you contacted the manufactuer to see what they say.

I have, they seem to think its the tranny, but that goes without saying. they said the only way ill know is by dropping the transmission and looking at the clutch. A tech at the Acura i work at thinks that clutch isnt fully disengaging and is basically staying in gear and only allowing me to shift when the rpms match up allowing me to put it into the next gear. The fact is, shifting was smooth before the clutch install. So i dont see why it would be a tranny issue. Plus the fact that there are no grinds leads me to that too.

my first thought also. I would check the hydraulic system first, then research any step that was or wasn't put on the flywheel and find out if it's within spec.

Had a similar problem in my ef. The pedal bracket was flexing under the stress of the dual diaphram pp. Had to brace it up and adjust the pedal a bit higher.

I just got back from a NASA event at Carolina Motorsports Park, was in the HPDE 1 class. My 97 Prelude has the same problem now, the last two sessions I had my tranny started showing signs of trouble. The very last one I couldn't get it into second at all, and 3rd and 4th were very difficult. The car is completely stock drivetrain wise. After it cooled down I can get it into gear, still a little difficult. Starting off in first gear it feels like it wheel hops as well.
Just figured I'd share since mine is stock.

100% sure its the hydro system. I had the same issue and upgraded the lines on my system so they wouldnt flex. I also adjusted a litlte bit on the pedal and shifts awesome and I ****** on a regular bases.
