I brought my car to a dyno shop today just to get a baseline figure> i was horrified after the first run...117bhp/110llb torque, to the wheels translating to 149bhp at the crank. My car is a JDM integra supposedly making 180bhp at the crank but thats with 100RON fuel, i only had 95RON in today. I have a mugen cat back system hi-flo cat, blitz filter with intake pipe, iridium plugs. The car is running 17degrees advanced timing. I at least expected to make somewhere near factory figures. theres 17" rims on the car which would probably account for a small loss but not 25-30bhp at the crank. All my friends reckon that the guys equipment is way off track. After the second run (3rd gear) and some mild tweaking it improved slightly to 151bhp at the crank @7760rpm. The car/engine drives perfectly and is well capable of keeping up/beating supposedly higher powered cars...so is it possible for a dyno to be that far out. The engine has 72k miles and is serviced every 4-5kmiles...i think i'll go to another dyno shop and compare the two readings before i make any drastic decisions!!
[QUOTE]Sorry if this is a dumb question....what motor? Crank hp is irrelevant I think. [/QUOTE
he has a jdm gsr motor. the ones i've seen put down 155-166 at the wheel. i really hope that the first dyno was off.
