Default Velocity stack w/o filter?

Ive seen setups on here with Velocity stack w/o filter. Filter as in cone filter on velocity stack. Now I know there has to some sort of filter/mesh screen on the intake tube somewhere right? Or are they running the vc open no filter???

You're not looking hard enough. K&N makes one.

As does comptech/ ct engineering.

People are running stacks with no filters on them, but that doesn't make it good.

This is the intake pipe that feeds my GT3076R. It's a 6" inlet AEM Dry Flow on a aluminum velocity stack with 4" outlet. The pipe is powdercoated in a thermal coating.
