there is no need to rev past 8500with a CTr cam, so factory R valve springs are just fine.(intake only)

I agree with the earlier posts, If you are not reving above 8400, dont bother with titanium valve springs. Now, if you go ahead and modify your ECU with a re-burn, deifintely go with tit. springs. They will save your engine.

Yes I have got a Mugen ECU with 9000 rev limiter.

In France I know several persons who explosed theirs type R engines because a retainer break down on account of high rpm.

Thank you

You could always use a little self control and not rev past 8500. But with Ti retainers, stock type R valve springs will suffice. Just don't rev that high very often. 9k everyday with R springs is not good.

just because you can rev to 9k, doesnt mean that you will be making power with the CTR cams that high. I mean if you had the valvetrain capability to rev to 28K, but were running a stock gsr cam, then itd be pointles to string it out.
get ctr valvesprings, and rev to 8500.

I'd go with Todas or Spoon, since you're racing in the circuit, it's better protection in case of a mis-shift or something. You may not necessarily rev that high, but it's just for protection. A friend's EK9 racecar recently blew up because of a misshift, going from 3rd to 4th he accidentally put it to 2nd, he was using mugen valvesprings...

If you plan on ever upgrading to more aggressive cams, contact Rocket on this board. He has prototype springs in the works right now that are damn stiff. I think he sells them for $150 a set. Ill have them in my head within a few weeks.

Type R valvesprings with titanium retainers, Type R throttle body and intake manifold should get you to rev to 9K and make power. Don't forget the adj. cam gears too.
