Valve sticking out a bit...why?
Just pulled cylinder head off a b16a and found that one of the valves is sticking out a little bit like the one seen in this photo...

Is this normal? Anything I should do?
TIA

...hmmm i've never seen that..you only see that on single cam heads cause obviously the cam is still on the head..
But why did you pull the head? i would remove the keepers/spring and check out the valve, guide etc.. thoroughly if i were you...more than likely its bent it seems..

I'm selling the head. The motor ran fine, so would it run normally were it bent?

no it wouldnt, it should be fine then..just remove, or even tap on the spring. Maybe it's just stuck somehow..
BTW how much you slanging the head for?

Here is another pic of a different head with the same issue:

I'm going to be putting on ebay sometime. Got to pick up a few more things for it and clean it up a bit.

Exactly--I would say the valve might be a tiny bit bent--all it takes is a little to have it hang up in the guide.

you have the cams installed on the head???...I replied thinking the cams were off the head..If the cams are on, obviously the valves are going to be open depending on cam position...

If the cams are installed then obviously the lobe is holding it open. Why did you have to even ask this question.

no, it all depends on cam position ...
your on the right track though...more valves would probably be open...
we need to see if the cams were really bolted on the head or not...TTT
