Default Valve spring install/removal on VTEC head

Some said that it's needed to take the head out to install/remove the valve springs on a VTEC head, but on a non-VTEC head removal isn't nesessary. Is it true?

make it easier for your self. You do have to take that stuff out. especially the V-tec head. Because if you use the tool to press the springs ratainers and clips back in, you might just drop the damn valves in the piston, believe me its hard enough to compress those damn springs you would not want to worry about valves falling back in the chamber.

He could pressurize the cylinder or feed some nylon rope into the plug hole and move the piston up to hold the valves.

you can use a leakdown tester to pressurize the chambers to hold the valves up
