Valve spring compressor
I just ordered this, does anyone have any experience with it? It looks pretty straight forward and easy to use..

I have never used that one in particular but it looks fairly easy to use and straight forward as you mentioned. Just get an extension magnet to pull the keepers out and you are golden. I have this compressor and that one looks like it would even be eassier to use.

I have that; it works great. With it I was able to swap valve springs in < 40 min once I had the cams out. Make sure you thread the bolts through the holes a few times to get paint shavings out before you put it on your head (don't want those getting in the head). The nice thing about that tool is that you can do the job with the head on the car.
It also ships with what has become one of my 'essential' tools -- a little magnetized screwdriver you use to handle the keepers. It also has 1001 other uses.

Bringing back an old thread here, but I used this tool a couple weeks ago and it was pretty simple. Although, I didn't pressurize the cylinders, I just let the valvesfall on pistons 1 and 4, rotated the engine and did the same with 2 and 3. Just some info for people who don't have a compressor or the correct hose.
I was going to get that tool today, till it said VTEC only. He says he's working on a new one for LS motors, something about it being higher. Now I don't know what to use to do the job if my head is still on. =\
Any help?

I used to use the giant c-clamp tool but this tool you can have all the valves done in less than an hour than with the old tool I used to use which took 2 hours.lol..I love using this. Its quick and way more easier with no hassels.
this is what I have used for the past 11yrs on many engines: http://buy1.snapon.com/catalog/item....re&dir=catalog
i just pressurize the cylinder and place the silver piece over retainer, give it a tap with a rubber hammer and it sucks the keepers right up without the chance of dropping one since it has a VERY strong magnet. to install just place the longer end of the black adapter into the aluminum piece, put the keepers on the retainer your installing and push it in with the tool by hand. hella easy to do and ive done it at the track once on my one friends da b16 in no time. I use it all the time and my friend Harry Sohn from DelSohn Racing introduced the tool to me and loved it ever since
