I noticed that after doing an adjustment there was still a little noise. After opening up the cover again I notice that when I pressed down on the valves (actually pressing down the lock nut), there's a little play and taps the surface below it.

Is this what's causing the noise? Should there be play if it's been adjusted properly? Or is something just worn.
