if you're replacing valves, you need a valve job. if you're putting the same valves back in the head, and keep them in the same spot, you should at least lap them to make sure you've got good contact.

A valve job ensures your valves seal against the seat. It should cost $150-$200 for a 3 angle 16valve 4 cylinder head. Supra8588 was refering to valve seals I think??? Of course you know they need replacing. $75 per side for valve guides sounds about right. Let the shop remove and install the guides. Have any other plans for the head? Resuraced, pressure checked, valve stem height, ported..... Good luck with the build.

those valve guides are 75 for the whole set. ill have to call the guy doing the guides and see how much he wants for the valve job as well. i dont have the money to go all out on this head. maybe when i have the money ill have it port and polished. but im just gonna put in stock sized valves, tit. retainers, new seals, and dual valve springs.hopefully the valvejob isnt to expensive, i aint no balla
