ok I have an extra h22 head I took it in to get it checked out and the guy said it need a valve grind. what exactly is this? why would I need something like this. the motor that the head was off of, the guy drove into a puddle or something and his cai sucked up some water, bent 2 rods and that was it I thought. anyways can someone explain this?
honda heads have steel inserts where the valve seals the head and if they were to rust you will loose sealing effectiveness. you most likely need a valve cut/grind and lapping
this is where the valve's seal is restored, ask what style of cut that they are going to do. request either a radius cut or a multi angle for better flow
