Default valve cover left off

There is a d15b8 head that has had no valve cover on it for two years, I have not seen it, but it was stored in a garage. Does anyone think there might be a problem with just plopping it as is onto my block, due to the fact that it has been exposed to the air? Thanks.

Default Re: valve cover left off (budomove)

i don't know if i would just slap another valve cover on and hope for the best.

within the past 2 years of being exposed you never know if there was anything accidentally dropped into the engine, there is probably moisture/dirt in that engine now.......and check for rust forming on the camshaft and lifters etc...

it might be worth having the head re-built......?
