Valve Cover Breather Issue?
I have a JDM 2nd Gen B16a in my 98 civic lx, and I didn't like the way the little valve cover breather filter looked on the valve cover so I took a 12" piece of hose and I clamped one end to the valve cover nipple and on the other end I clamped on the little filter and I tucked it away under my short ram intake (looked way better). Well last year I went to get my car inspected and the guy took the loose hose and zipped tied it to my strut bar! So i didn't care what ever! Well like a month before I put my car away for the winter, my car started to run rich! And every once in a while at a redlight my air/fuel guage would go to full rich and my car would stall, and on the truway when i'm crusin and i'd give it alittle gas it would go to rich and it would hesitate alittle! but other times it would run great but still a little more rich then it was before this **** started to occur! well I said expletive it and decided that i'd look at it over the winter when its in my garage! So the other day I went and I took off the zip tie that they put on and realized that the hose was pinched onto the strut bar! It wasn't noticeable because the hose was under the strut bar and you would think that these expletive face certified mechanics have a brain! oh well, SO my question is,,,,, could this pinched (blocked valve cover nipple) cuz my problem????
And no i don't have a mil light on!! I don't wanna wait 2 months too drive it to see if it WAS the problem so i'm tryin to figure it out now while the car us just sittin there, plus I have cams (zex stage one) that i wanna put in before the spring also !!
