Default VAFC Vs Hondata

I have a VAFC at the moment. It's not installed yet cos im stupid and can't understand it. I know that you have to do a base run and set the high cam at the around where the power drops on the low cams. Then for the fuelling, is it gonna take lots of runs on the dyno to lean it out at every 500 or so rpm's?
I've spoken to a few places and they say it can take around 4 hours to set it up.
So that means forking out alot of cash for the dyno cos they are not cheap.
Therefore is it worth me selling the VAFC and getting Hondata instead. Will i benefit alot better from Hondata and how much is it going for?
So far i've calculated the cost to be around £400 to get the VAFC set up.

Sell the VAFC.

Buy a Hondata.

Have a tuner install and tune the Hondata.

Happy = you

Wrong.

Unless you think ten minutes of conscious thought is a high price to pay, of course. In that situation I'd be more than happy to retract my disagreement.

No, I run my own proprietary variant of OBD0 engine management. I did, however, do all the early Uberdata code testing, up to ~ version 1.4. I have a couple of unique ERM/Uberdata versions to show for it, and a version of 1.3 that pops up a lot of boxes with derogatory commentary about me courtesy of it's author, Blake Warner. I'm also technically the only person with permission to use Uberdata for commercial profit, but I don't do so unless pestered to death; I'd rather hand out free tech support to people wanting to DIY.

That answer your question?

not sure if this was really answered but im still deciding which route to go for my turbo setup. Which unit has better tuning ability? I know this might be a dumb question but what is the major difference in hondata/uberdata vs a vafc?

it's hard to give reccomendations when you don't tell us why you need engine tuning, as in, what your setup is...

My current set up is -
92 hatch with B18C6 (UKDM ITR)
Spoon Cams, Skunk2 adjustable Gears
Spoon Head gasket
Skunk2 springs + retainers
DC headers
Apexi N1 cat back
AEM CAI
Kenji P28

I'm really clueless about engine tuning, i just did the swap my self cos i'm ok with nuts and bolts.
With Hondata the extras such as launch control can be very beneficial as i'm loosing alot of traction at the moment on launch. Can the VAFC be tuned for this?

Uberdata - heard about it. Is it alot cheaper than Hondata? But i don't know of any tuners in this country that will support it.

The other option is to find someone with a similar set up as mine and take their VAFC settings for initial set up before going to dyno.
