Default Vacuum brake bleeders

Just wondering what the thoughts are regarding vacuum brake bleeders. I know that it makes solo bleeds much easier and the only thing negative i've heard is that it may suck too quickly and can run the reservoir dry pretty quickly (although i can't see how that can be a bad thing as bleeding would be quicker and you can control the flow via the bleed screw anyways).

I got one but haven't used it yet. I heard that it constantly pulls bubbles through the threads of the bleed valves, so it's hard to tell when you're actually done. I figure I'll do most of it with the vacuum pump, then call my daughter to pump the pedal for the last bit.
