Default v-tec not working.... help

check this out guys..... v-tec will work when engine is cool but once it reaches normal temps it quits. i wired a light to the v-tec wire that exits the ecu, when I get up to where v-tec is suppose to cross over the light turns on. so I know that the ecu is giving the current to the soliniod, but still no v-tec. could it be my soliniod? Ive read the helms manuel on how to check the free floating pin that sits between the soliniod the monting bracket. they say it should spin or move freely. mine has a little bit of a grind or rub you can feel when you spin it. could this lock do to expansion up when the car gets hot and not move? and thats why my v-tec wont engage? any 1 help!!!!
