Using wrong oil weight

Default Using wrong oil weight

What can happen if I used the wrong oil weight on my motor? I have a ls/vtec. Oil weight im using is 20w50.

thats a little on the thick side...you'de only want that for cross country driving, being that the oil wont thin out as quickly as 5w30. use 5w30...honda uses it for a reason

Yeah, the new stuff is thinner. How about oil for an Insight: 0w-20. There are plain 0 weight racing oils too, just like water.

5w-30 is what you need.

no nothing bad will happen to your motor. honda allows the use of 20w-50 in other parts of the world.
