Default Using RTV for torque mounts?

I feel stupid for asking this. My CRV has worn torque mounts. I just picked up a set of new replacements and am looking to reinforce them. Its a daily driver so i dont want to use 3M window weld since I read its stiffer than ES inserts. Has anyone used RTV silicone instead? or is this not even a good idea since silicone is flexible? Thanks.

I vaguely remember something awhile back about this on HT. The arthor of the thread refrenced a nissan (300z?) forum. Apperently they do something like what your describing. I know thats not much help.
