Default Using a map sensor in place of an EGR sensor

Has anyone tried wiring up a map sensor in place of the EGR and connecting the vacuum line from the 2 wire EGR control sensor to the map? I believe the 2 wire EGR uses the vacuum line to control the lift of the regular EGR valve. No idea if it would work, just curious because the manifold I'm using doesn't have the EGR port.
