usdm>jdm, 5-speed>auto conversion help
i am converting(dont ask, read my other topics, dont hate..please) my 98 gsr to auto. i need to hook up a JDM auto tranny to my 98 USDM gsr. 1. the ecu controls the auto tranny right? if not what does? 2. what ecu can i use, or other options to control the jdm tranny with my usdm b18? 3. any tips on wire/hookup between all this? 4. in the future id love to go turbo, any ideas? thanks 4 any help....
Sorry. GS-R's only came with manual transmissions and yes, the ECU does operate the tranny. It might be possible, but not with a USDM ECU. As for the turbo hopes, you're far better off leaving it a manual, as the auto trannies from Honda are not meant for much more power than they come with. You will undoubtedly blow it up.

Incorrect. There are JDM GSR automatic tranny setups.
