Upside down Head Gasket?
A friend of mine wanted me to check out his motor before tuning today. I noticed that the head gasket was upside down. The metal tab with the numbers was not on on the lower left side (it was on the right). I've put head gaskets in upside down before and they would spew out oil from the back. His didn't, and he said that he bought it off a friend and it was a running motor. Should we replace the head gasket and put it on the correct way? Or is this the way it is supposed to be? I don't understand how it was a normal running motor with an upside down head gasket. This is an LS Vtec motor.
