Default Ultimate Tranny...

Hi Guys

Im trying to workout what would be the best set-up for my build.

So far ive been thinking of GSR with quaife. But I want something that will be good on the strip for low 10's, but i also want it to be good on the circuit and i also want a top speed of 180mph minimum. Do you guys think its possible?

I was thinking of custom gears, with suited final drive?

...Don't one of those transmissions cost like $12,000 each?? If your looking to achieve 450 hp this won't be the way to go about it.

The more power you make the taller the gear you want for the track(road not drag). This helps you for traction and over all drivablility, meaning if the GSR has a close low gear ratio then you don't want it because it would be like using a 3000hp NHRA motor up to turn a pin wheel. 450hp on a low gear transmission will be useless for forward motion and won't have the flexiblity that is required on a race track. With your car being turbo you'll want to find the highest gear ratio to give you the top end punch that your looking for on the road track. Unfortunately your asking us to take the extreems of both worlds and wrap them into one. With out a one off custom transmission you won't get a 10sec honda and a competitive road racer in one. But if your not swayed you'll want to first start off by looking at your dyno chart to find out where the meat of your power is and then base your gearing off of that.
