Default Uberdata - b16a1 turbo

ive gotten pieces of info here and there but i want to be shure about this setup.

b16(sir 1) w/ drag turbo kit , omipower valvetrain and i was wondering if the uberdata would work for tuning... this is a realy low budget project so it seems the best bet. what i need to know realy is what i need to change from obd0 to obd1 and is there any problems other than this that anyone can warn me about.

Title fits you well.

He could stay obd-0 and use turbo edit, but Uberdata and Hondata have a much larger support base.

For switching to OBD-1 you'll need a 4 wire o2 sensor, obd-1 vtec distributor, p28 ecu, obd-0 to obd-1 conversion harness

This is true, but since he mentioned that his is a "really low budget project", the additional cost associated with converting to OBD-1 rather than simply sticking with TurboEDIT are probably not easily justified.

Even for an money tight person that comparison isn't justified. You can easily cut the cost of conversion down to nearly nothing. The benefits from tuning on a system that others use and has a much larger support base out weigh the $30 difference. You can find people to trade the PR3 for a P28. You can sell your JDM B16A distributor which are hard to find to buy a OBD-1 VTEC distributor. Search for past threads that I've created and you can find instructions on how to make your own OBD-0 to OBD-1 conversion harness. If money is tight and you want to tune on Uberdata there is always a way to fit it in a budget.

Hey *******, please stop responding to FI threads that you know nothing about. Yes I have heard of turboedit, but it seems that I'm nearly the only one. Do some searches and you'll see that turboedit threads go constantly unanswered. NO body besides the makers know for sure what is going on with it. If every program has it's place then B-Series VTEC turbo engines are not the area for turboedit. I love to see that people are developing code for all areas but there are always going to be stronger and weaker programs for different needs.

I'm sure you're not going to want to deal with running VTEC through a VAFC since TE can't do VTEC without a different ECU than you currently have. If you are going to go through the troubles of different wiring for VTEC and trying to find some odd ECU just to run VTEC then why wouldn't you just switch to an OBD-1 ECU that is made for it. Also last I heard the RPM scales maxed out at 7400RPMs. I dont know about you but I would rather have some resolution up top so I dont have to overly richen it to avoid problems where you are making your most power.
