Default Type r lsd in a ls tranny?

I just searched this topic and found some information, but was confused. I can get a good deal on a type r lsd and i currently have an ls tranny. Can anyone specify what parts are needed to complete this. It would be helpful to see something on acuraautomotiveparts.net as to what i need. thanks!!!!

well the final drive you ned because the differential on itr/gsr tranny is bigger than the ls...oh i forgot since you are changing the final drive (4.26 vs 4.4) you need a gsr/itr output shaft too

so... basically this ends up being a pretty costly thing? Not worth it to go with this lsd? Would a quaife cost pretty much the same in the end?

If you check the parts site you mentioned, you'll need the ring gear (listed under clutch housing i think) and the counter shaft from a 94+ GSR to replace the final drive. Those 2 parts are a good way to start estimating prices. I don't know for certain whether all the LS gears fit the GSR countershaft.

The quaife would probably save you a few bucks in the end, plus it's a better differential, but you won't get the benefit of the 4.40 final drive.
