Default Type R LSD

I am wondering what are signs of a type r differential going bad....example...from first to second gear shifting hard into second the car doesnt have as much as wheel spin? or would that be a clutch problem...? any feedback would be greatly appreciated...

Engine RPM's going up but speed isn't is a good sign of a clutch going bad. Try downshifting from say, 4th to 3rd you should feel the car hook and go, but if the clutch is slipping you'll feel the car rev up but not realy increase spped as fast.

Not sure if this would help, but the local VW dealership tests clutch's by using the hill right next to the service dept .. they start the car, and try to take it up the hill in 2nd gear from a stop..

that's why they replaced mine
