Type-R cams in B16, Springs???
If I were to put Type-R cams from an intergra. in A b16 would I have to change the springs. there are about 12 degree differance on the duration and exhaust.and the rest are not too much differance than stock.
If you plan on upgrading though, you may want to go to something stronger than the stock ITR valvetrain. The ITR stuff is good, but if by accident you slam it into second doing 85 mph, then you're officially screwed, even with the ITR stuff.

If they do, I haven't found it yet. But you would need the head off to push the valves back through the valve guides to put the retainer on anyways so go ahead and pull it.

there are fittings where you put comressed air in the cylinder, it works I have done it on my ZC few weeks ago and on 2 other engines. Its called an air hold. screws in where spark plug goes. 150psi does wonders keeping valves closed.

you use a valve spring compressor with no air hold and your valves are going to drop into the cylinder. THe head is on the car and he want to avoind the work of removing it.<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by CleenSi »</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">

JUst be careful not to drop the valve keepers down the oil passage! That sucks! I have been in you exact position, And i dropped one and couldn't find it in the oil pan, so i had no choice but to take off the head!
wad up paper towel and stuff the holes before you start, remember to pull them out afterwards. I did that before it dawned on me, luckily I was able to fish mine out on my ZC.
I had 2 keepers drop on me, they went to the oil pan though, lucky me. I'm sure they'll come out when I change the oil. If they don't I guess I'll need to get a Spoon magnetic drain plug.
I have ITR cams in my B16, also ITR valvesprings and titanium retainers. I take it up to about 9200rpm just for ***** and giggles. Highest I've taken it was 9500 though....With ITR cams, power probably stops around 8500-8800.

My best friend has a 93 civic si that is clean! He has a b16a2 swap that is internally stock! His g-friend took his stuff to over 10k with stock cams and reatiners! That was about 4 months ago! Still okay!
Yeah, Well mine seen 9500rpm one time. it was about 8 months ago,Still runs the exact same as before no new noise accured. But last week I heard a noise some where in the timing cover, I have takin it to 3 shops they all say that it is ok. And sound like alot of other cars.
