well ive already changed my oil twice since the 800 miles. i just wanted to know what type of oil i should use for the long run. (synthetic , syntec blend, or just regular oil) but thanks for your input.

I've been using nothing but synthetic since I got my car and I burn maybe about 1/2-1 quart during 3000 miles. I was bone dry after coming out of the body shop for some odd reason so I threw in 2 quarts of regular oil and it's been about 3 weeks and I haven't burnt any so far. I might switch over to regular or to a synthetic blend.

id stay away from the 5w-30 conventional oil because they tends to shear quicker than a 10w-30 conventional oil because of the extra viscosity improvers used in the 5w oils. for the best advice i suggest you go onto bobistheoilguy.com and ask your question there.

personally i use ACEA A3 0w-30 castrol syntec, and ive done an used oil analysis on this oil after 5200 miles and my b16a motor showed only single digit wear numbers. this oil is thicker than mobil 1 10w-30 which is only ACEA A1 because of its lower viscosity.
