two questions while doing my swap
First: I'm putting on a timming belt and I dont know where to line up the crank gear markers. Looks like there are three makers on it. And Also I want to line up the cam gear butI dont see where to light it up at. All I see is a "UP" on the cam gear.
Second:
I took off the tranny to replace the clutch, but there are some funny blots that look like stars. What do I get to get these off?
I got pics at http://www.latech.edu/~tlp006/car/probs/

Put the bottom end at TDC, either goin off the timing belt cover to crank reference or the lower timing belt gear to pump reference... Once you've got that lined up make sure the arrows are pointing up on the sprockets... Make sure the two ticks on the cam gears are pointing directly at each other... When the IN cam is at TDC you'll have the tick at your nine-o-clock for the EX cam it will be at three-o-clock... Besides that there isn't much too it... As for the bolts that hold on the clutch and pressure plate they are just 12pts. which require a 10mm 12pt. socket for the PP and a 17mm 12pt. for the flywheel.... Here's just a quick picture I took so you can see exactly what you gotta line up if you are unsure about the bottom end... Peace
