I live in the Caribbean on an island called Trinidad about 2500 miles south of Florida no dynos. However on the upside no enforced speed limit and a drag strip and circuit track that is open to the publice free of charge except sundays when there are official events

Aboud, Welcome to h-t .The *** hole was the guy who gave you this advice on launching. You cant do this with real power, you will burn tyres. My recommendation depending on tyres and application might be to slip the clutch a little until the car rolls then hit it. He wrote:

After you stage hold her on the mat untill you see the last amber go on, (dont worry about rev limiter, the valves will float and keep it below 10,000) then sidestep the clutch, forget about the tach, just let her go untill she goes flat then shift. Oh yea, never let the accelerator off the floor from when you stage untill you get through the traps. (if you float valves when you shift you do it too slow!).
Drive it like you hate it, if you are afraid of breaking it, you shouldn't be racing it!

good luck
Leroy
