Default tuning cam gears without dyno?

i have heard of just making the adjustments then drive it and bring it back home and make more adj.'s if needed, any other opinions.?

butt dyno which isn't close to accurate

or at the tracks, which is hard if you can't drive consistently

just start +1 intake -1 exhaust and play around little by little

so when advancing one cam i need to retard the other?what happens if adjust both towards the positive?

sorry to jack your post but what about single cams?
what the best setting in your experience.
i dont want to dyno i have no money.
my car just came with one and it is set on zero.
should i advance or retard?

Advance.. quicker response, great drivability with the right amount. Make sure ignition timing is set properly (it will move when you change cam degree).
Retard.. shifts power to upper power band, but you can lose out on overall torque, & hp.
