Default Tune required after installing lower comp pistons?

Would I be able to drive around on the stock tune if I put in lower comp pistons?
Rebuilding a b16 for turbo, using 9:1 pistons. Going to be a few months before I have the turbo kit pieced together.

I would at least get a base map for that compression.... Its probably going to need more timing... going to be pretty sluggish
