Default trying to do something creative

Im trying to save some space in my domestic engine bay and replace my chevy alternator with one from my civic. the chevy alternator has a power wire and a 2 pin connector, one wire from the 2 pin connector goes to the power output on the alternator. The other goes back into the harness along with the white power wire. I was thinking of using a obd 0 alternator and removing the ecu wire, would that work? Its going in a 75 chevy monza, I know I have to mount it backwards or really low which isnt a problem. Im just need to make sure I have the wiring correct I the wiring correct. Thanks for your help.

The ecu wire would probably be "alternator control" wire. The one guy I've spoke to said it really doesn't do **** when disabled on the several car he's tuned (on the dyno).

It probably would have to be put backwards, since it spins the wrong way vs other engines.
