I know this is likely out of the norm here. I would like to ask if anyone has dealt or has knowledge of the matter. I have an '04 TRX450R that the idle will not remain stable. I adjust the set screw to a desirable idle speed. then after riding a short while it will either be too high or stalls. After adjusting again I get the opposite reaction. I have cleaned the carb 4 times and nothing has been found in the float bowl the last 3 times. There is a throttle position sensor on the carb. Last summer I found that if it was disconnected the idle stablized and I did not have a problem until the weather turned cold. The bike runs great, just the idle is not stable. Any suggestions would be welcomed.

I have dealt with this. I found the throttle position sensor was the issue. I disconnected it and got much better stability on idle. Of course replacement is the best solution. The TPS is a pricey part though.
