Ok, as you know the top of the coilovers have a 16 way adjustable **** that you can turn with a hex key or by hand. Underneath of the **** on the inside of that is what I would call a Dog Point Set Screw that is approximately 6mm X 1.0 by what I can see.
What happened is in the process of unscrewing the bolt from the pillar it snapped this peice inside and broke it.

I was able to turn the part out with a hex key completely, and still have both parts.

I just was wondering the exact part name and size for this peice. That is about the best explanation I can give on it, i'll try and get some pictures if no one knows what I mean.

I don't know the actual name of the piece, but if I was in the same spot as you.....I would send that particular strut over to Tein in cali and have them service it.

And while you're at it......might as well get an overhaul of all 4 struts.

Something to think about.

 

They are brand new...no reason for all of that work when I can just replace the 1 part.

My dad sells these kind of things (not tein's, the broken part), just needed to know the exact size of it.

 

if that's the case.......give the piece to your dad and have him size it up side by side to the broken piece.

 

The part inside broke into 2 or maybe even 3 parts...since when we lined up the 2 they did not match in breaking points or color.

That is why i'm wondering the exact size.

Granted all this does it press a little button down on the inside...i'd like it to be exact. And if I need to email or call tein, would like to at least have the name of the part.

 

Called Tein, didn't know what the part was called but it costs a whole .10 cents.

FYI - They have the worst hold music ever.

Everytime I call them for inventory questions I get a great laugh from listening to their hold music.
