transmission stuck in 2nd

transmission stuck in 2nd

I have a 93 3 door hatch with a 5 speed. When i put it in 3,4,5,r the transmission looks up. If its in 1st its still in 2nd. Is there a easy fix or should I look for an other transmission

sounds like a broken shift fork

my cousin's got stuck in 5th i think and wouldn't come out. ended up the diff was broke in a bunch of pieces.

i would consider that the worst case senerio.
