transmission question. HELP PLEASE!!!
hi,
i have a 94 delsol vtec and everyone that drives my car tells me that my clutch travel is too long and that it grabs really late. i've noticed that the clutch pedal sits higher than the the brake and gas pedal. i recently drove a couple of my friends' cars and noticed that their newer cars ('97 integ, '02 rsx) have much shorter travel and engage the whole way from being depressed until fully released. i recently got my clutch changed and the mechanic did a "mickey mouse" job in my opinion and didn't pay to much attention to it. Also, my car tends to shudder and shake alot right when the clutch starts grabbing before i put any throttle. is this because of a warped flywheel? do i need to resurface? or was this supposed to be done when i got the clutch job? all suggestion will be greatly appreciated. thanx all

I'd start with bleeding the clutch, and making sure your fluid is clean and topped off.
Your clutch pedal sits slightly higher than the brake and the brake is higher than the gas

No, stand in front of your car with the hood open. Look at the place where the tranny and block meet. Right there you will see a bleeder valve (like you have on your brake calipers) Anyway, just like bleeding your brakes, open the bleeder valve, have someone push your clutch down, close valve, have person lift clutch pedal, open bleeder, push clutch down...ect, ect. Of course brake fluid is gonna squirt out when they push on the clutch to catch it into a plastic bottle or something.
As it empties out, fill the little resovoir(far right side all the way back in the engine bay close to the brake resovoir) with brake fluid.
