Default Transmission question

I recently just got my clutch installed on my gsr. Didnt ask if he filled the transmission fluid but it keeps popping out of 5th gear on the highway....could low transmission fluid be the problem?? how many quarts to fill the tranny anyways? Thanks for your help.

I wouldn't rule it out, but it shouldn't pop out due to lack of tranny fluid. Of course you can always check your tranny fluid and find out if that's the problem.

Yes! It is lack of oil in the tranny!

Low fluid can cause this problem.

i dont think low fluid would cause that, sounds like the ring on the fifth gear blocking ring is toast.

I could be several things. First of all b series trannys dont use transmission fluid. You would have to use 10w-30 (the same as your motor). If it pops out on the freeway and its not an oil factor it can be one of your synchronizers. If later on 4rth gear is giving you problems then its your synchros. If you lack oil or the right oil then you probably just wore out your 5th gear and it will need replacing. Check your oil if you change it on your tranny and look for metal flake (tiny chunks of metal). Or could be your housing. Ive had just about every problem with honda trannies so just keep in touch and let me know what else you find wrong. Oh yeah one more thing if you took your car to get a clutch then the mechanic would have to been really really forgetful to forget to put oil in your tranny.
