i own a 1992 civic hatch dx... 5 speed... d15b... ex/si trans with lsd... gripforce stage 1 clutch with lightened oem flywheel... all of that on 7 pounds of boost on a greddy 15G kit

well heres the story, i was cruisin down pacific coast highway in 5th gear at like 40-45 mph... the light hits red... so i pop it in neutral and came to a stop... once the light hits green... i pushed the clutch in and tried to move the shifter... it got STUCK !!! it wouldnt even let me engage it in any gear what so ever... i was jerking it extra hard to see if i can get it to go in considering there were cars around me... and somehow it went in... i took off lightly in 1st... then 2nd... then 3rd... and pulled over... and AGAIN it got stuck.... as i pulled over.. i drove in between 2 walls... and u can hear a clinky noise coming from the transmission... sounds like a coin bouncing up n down inside the tranny... the faster i go, the faster the sound goes... its not like a dramatic loud noise... but if u listen for it, u can obviously here it... what do u guys think went bad on me ? the transmission ?? clutch ???

the weird thing is, that happened to me yesterday... and i'm still able to drive my car, as long as the shifter co-operates with me... when it doesnt co-operate, u can feel the shifter get stiff like it doesnt wanna move anywhere... also, about 30 minutes after the clinky noise started happening, it suddenly went away... i'm guessing it fell to the bottom of the tranny... i wonder what it was... could be a rock that somehow got in there.... or something broke from the inside

 

sounds like a broken 3-4 shift fork. have you been "power shifting"? into gears?

if so, it's probably broken. Time to pull the tranny and take it apart
