Default Transmission casing missing

I was looking under my car this weekend and noticed I could see my flywheel. Part of the casing is missing. Can this cause any problems if dirt or rocks get up in there or should I not worry about it.

It is not that big of a deal. If it was my car though, I would replace the cover, just because.

Yes, you should replace it. You don't want anything getting the flywheel/clutch assembly dirty; ever notice how when you assemble it that it's very important to keep the area extremely clean? You should be able to pick one up at a yard for very very cheap.
