I am currently building a Ls/Vetc that is bored .25 over. I am going to be using stock sleaves and running eagle rods and forged pistons for the botton end. I am lso going to be running a skunk2 intake manifold and atleast a set of stage2 cams or bigger. I am currently with no third gear and i need a new tranny. I am wondering what type of tranny to go with on this motor. I dont have very good luck with the Jdm S1 tranny. I am also going to run atleast and maybe more than a 100 shot of nos.

On both of my S1 tranny's the synchros for 3rd are gone.

 

Are you missing your third gear shifts and trashing the synchros? I have been known to do a little of that myself. I fixed it by rising the back of the seat closer so that my arm isn't fully extended when I shift into third. I also have also slowed the in/out of the clutch pedal with my foot so my arm can keep up. IT made a difference. I personally want an YS1 or S1 with LSD. I have an S80 right now.
