Tranny question HELP
Alright so here's the story, my T2T4 tranny that came with my swap was ran without fluid in it. The tranny locked and the only gear I had was 3rd. We loaded it with tranny fluid and tried to drive it around to maybe break the gears free. Now when the tranny was in the car the only gear I could put it in and out of was 3rd and neutral. Now that the tranny is out of the car and sitting on the shelf I can use the selectors to put it into every gear.. So is the transmission good to put back into the car? Will it be drivable? Or should I take it to a transmission shop and have it rebuilt / looked at, as I was planning to do. Any input would help at this point, I need this tranny back in my car ASAP!
could you move the shifter between 12 45 befor or would it just grind? If you did nothing to the tranny you did not fix it. look at the gears syncros and selector forks you might need to get a manual transmission work is not a guessing game.

Update I got the case open and this is what it looked like inside... Now I know absolutly(sp?) nothing about transmissions but this one seems to be perfectly fine. No chipping at all, no metal at the bottom or anywhere in the case. Magnets werent covered in much metal at all, just a light layer. Everything spun well, could select every gear. Any of you transmission guru's see anything wrong with it at all???
would that cause the transmisson not to work if i were to install it again. I just want to be sure its good to install again or should i have it looked at / rebuilt by someone

can't really see what we need to by the pics you posted.
pull the mainshaft bearing off the top with your hand. take that bearing shim off too. now pull up that thing with the slots that was under the shim...look at the bottom of it for wear and see if it's blackened from severe heating up. also check the synchro hub top and bottom (over 5th gear cone) you kind of have to pull some of that mainshaft stack apart to check for wear and heat discolorations. check the ends of the gear synchro cones that contact the synchro hub tops and bottoms. do that for 3/4 and 5/R. if you take it apart, take notes of the arrangement.
