Default tranny question

Hi guys,

Friend of mines has a cable tranny in his eg9 sir civic.(converted from auto)
He did the conversion to hydraulic without ne issues.
Recently what is happening is it is getting stuck in gear sometimes both while driving and at a standstill. For example you can put it in first gear but it would not go into 2nd, and when the brake pedal is released the car would move even though his foot is on the clutch.

Keep in mind this is not happening all the time. He is thinking it might be the pressure plate. What do you guys think?

Sounds like the throwout bearing isn't fully engaging the pressure plate when the clutch pedal is depressed. It could be something related to the clutch MC/slave or the pressure plate itself. The first thing I would do is check the system for leaks, then top off the fluid in the MC and make sure it's well bled. I'm not too familiar with cable to hydo conversions, but his clutch MC should have some amount of adjustablity on the pushrod. If the problem still persists after bleeding the clutch, I would play with the MC adjustment.
