I've got a 89 civic dx with a b18b in it right now.. i am going to do the vtec conversion shortly. keep in mind this is a road track car...

my question is about transmissions...
i am looking to swap to a tranny with a lsd... i dont know too much about gearing ratios...my question is which would be better for my car (ie faster acceleration... currently it just lags in fifth and almost seems as if it barly picks up speed)....

here's my options... the 4.40 final drive ratio tranny from a type r ... or this tranny...

JDM Honda Integra Type R DC2 LSD TRANSMISSION 4.785
Gears:
1st - 3.230
2nd - 2.105
3rd - 1.458
4th - 1.034
5th - 0.787
FD - 4.785


which would you guys recommend and what would the typical differences be within the two?...

well if you are looking for quick acceleration i would go with the 4.7 final drive, however if it is your daily driven car and you do alot of highway driving i would stick with teh 4.4 thats what i have in my car now and at 80 i'm singin at 4500 rpms so i'm sure with the 4.7 you're up there pretty high, just somethin to think about

 

well.. remember its a track car... and i want the fastest possible acceleration... i kno the final drive ratio would make it quicker.. but im just worried about the gearing ratios
