Tranny Problems, Changed Fluids, More problems! Lil Help?
94 Integra GSR
About a month ago my transmission started giving me problems. It won't shift properly, It is very notchy (unlike ever before). On occasion I couldn't even get it in gear. I was due for an oil change about 1 week after this problem started, so I changed my oil and the problem got slightly better but was still there. Usually, when the tranny is cold, the car shifts realitively smoothly, however, after running for 20 minutes it gets notchy. If I drive for an hour, I have to muscle it into gear. Now I went to the mechanic and he said the clutch seemed fine and asked about the transmission oil. I had this shop do the 90k mile service when I had just bought the car at 97k miles. Now I am at 120k and am ready for that service which also includes the transmission oil to be changed. However, if it was changed at 97k miles the oil really isnt due for service for anothe 7k miles. SO either my mechanic didnt change the transmission oil at the 90k mile service or It is something else?? Any help is appreciated.
Update: Today I changed my Manual Transmission Oil and the clutch fluid. After replacing both I went for a 45 minute drive. At first it seemed better but after about 30 minutes it got notchy and by the end I was back to muscling it into gear. There was a slight improvement but it is still far from fixed. I noticed it was especially bad when shifting into 2nd and 3rd. SO now that the fluids have been replaced and there was no real improvement, I am ready for my wallet to bleed green.
NOTE: Tommorow, 4/20 I am supposed to have the rest of my 120k mile service done.
Any help is greatly appreciated.
