ok so im driving to us27 for to the races and car pops out of gear cruising at 70-75...go to put it back in and grinnnnddssss
anyways pull over thought axle popped out..not that
pulled the tranny..not the throwout bearing..
what else should i check?
it makes a grinding noise when the clutch gets to the engagement point, and when i go to put it in gear its 20x worse...
i was suggested it could be the diff.. anyone else have any opinions?

check the detent ball springs that hold the position on the shift forks. not sure what trans you have so the location of those differ. make sure the ***** didn't push the spring back which can get jammed up in the hollow 12mm bolt. just make sure the detent spring and ball are even there for 5th shift fork. also check the synchro spring on the 5th gear brass block ring. maybe you found a thin metal ring (size of a paper clip) cut in half and it might be stuck to the magnet. the absence of the synchro spring could very well be causing the grinding since the sleeve isn't putting the pressure on the sycnro spring/blocking ring against the gear cone which brakes/slows the 5th gear down that it needs when you're shifting so it grinds.
about your clutch...is your setup hydro or cable? if it cable, the cable might need to be adjusted. probably not a clutch issue if it is only on the 5th shift. if it is only on the 5th shift. check the sychro spring like i mentioned.
