Default tranny help

Whats up fellas,
i have a 90 integra with a b18c swapped in my car. The tranny that came with the engine is screwed! it wont go into 3rd gear!
anyway, the tranny i am using is a b16a tranny cable type from a 88-91 civic. would it be ok to get a s1/j1 tranny instead of a y1 and would this tranny be just as good if not better for my car(talking about the JDM 90-91Integra RSi/XSi tranny) also, how would i know if this is the rsi/xsi tranny instead of the US 90-93
Integra RS/LS/GS Spec.Ed. tranny since they both have the same code. thanks

the only way you can tell, if you have a jdm or usdm trannu is, if you shift and are not in vtec, you probably have a usdm, if not its probably a jdm one, or youre just a good *** driver. And the y1 has the nicest gearing, but all are good to use with your car, should bolt right in.
