Trannsmission Noise?
I've got a JDM YS1 LSD Short Gear Trannsmission and it is making some weird noises. It is in a CRX with Hasport mounts and no interior at all.
I'm asking if it has anything to do with the Flyweheel.
Story:
I installed this tranny on a built LS motor about a year ago. I drove it for about 400 miles and it was flawless no noises or anything. At that time I had a Balanced LS motor and a JUN 10.5# Flywheel...like I said no noise it was perfect. After 400 miles I spun a rod bearing
and the tranny went into storage until last weekend.
Now:
I installed this tranny last weekend in my CRX with a stock LS motor and a Fidanza 7.5# flywheel and a ACT 6 Puck unsprung hub Clutch. And now When I decelerate in gear (engine braking) the Tranny kind of whines and whirrs. Esp in the upper gears and upper RPM's It doesn't do this noise at all in first or Second. I get the car up to about 4000 in 5th and then I let off and I can hear the tranny turning. It sound like I've got my motorcycle gears in my open case and turning them. (thats the best analogy I've come up with)
Is this normal or Do I have to pull this thing apart. I put this one in because my regular LS YS1 with about 180K on it was just grinding badly in third and fourth. Now I can pull the tranny myself but I'd rather not do it again it's a lot of work when you do it in your driveway by yourself.
What do you think?

I figured it would have been the notorious input shaft bearing noise until you said it didn't happen in 1st and 2nd. Does it make the noise at idle? If so, does it stop when you depress the clutch? That really sucks though. Sorry man.
No noise at idle at all. It also shifts and accelerates smoothly. But the noise stops when I depress the clutch and let the car roll rather than Engine brake. Any Ideas. This may be normal but I'm jus tnot used to it.
