Default TPS Calibration

Hey I have a 96 jdm spec Type r (B18C) with the matching jdm ecu. Currently having some bogging problems and I know the TPS has been tampered with.

I've done alot of searching and know there are different specs people are saying

What is the correct spec for my engine?

is it .45v at closed throttle or .5v?

And is it 4.5v at WOT or 4.8v?

If anyone could let me know it would be greatly appreciated.

Default Re: TPS Calibration

The throttle position sensor usually should not be adjusted while still in the factory position. Once it and the idle screw have been moved, many people end up having trouble setting them both correctly. The problem is that the TPS must be set to the right voltage when the throttle is at idle. However, if the idle screw isn't set correctly then there's no way to know where the throttle should be in order to set the TPS. Also, without the TPS set, the car won't idle properly and there's no way to know where to set the idle screw. The solution is to hold the throttle all the way open, set the TPS for WOT (about 4.48v) and tighten it down. Let the throttle close and then adjust the idle screw until the TPS reads idle voltage (about .5v). Once the TPS has been set correctly for WOT, it shouldn't need any further adjustment. The idle screw can then be set to a little below or above .5v to perfect the idle. Fixing an improperly set TPS will change how the ignition timing should be set. If you were running rich and had to advance the timing, setting the TPS correctly will require retarding the timing somewhat.

-I had that written already from another post. The voltage is supposed to be "about 4.5v" at WOT and "about .5v" at idle. A problem with the FPR can also throw off the idle A/F ratio.
